We're off!
We left the dock at 10:33 on Saturday morning with Mindy and Tris waving goodbye from the dock. That's only a half hour later than planned which we were very happy with when you consider the the complicated logistics that go into planning a trip like this. We made it to 10:46 when someone asked "Are we there yet." We had a glorious sail around the south side of St. Thomas. Things changed a bit when we made the turn into the open Atlantic at Savana. (A small island off the West end of St. Thomas.) The wind was nice, but the seas were a bit confused so the ride got a bit bumpy. We had a some "minor" glitches with the vang sheet, mainsail battens and lazy jacks which which slowed us a bit, but the problems were resolved and we were on our way. We're safely underway and currently en-route from Savana to Savannah....
